Retirement preperation in these days is certainly difficult, one has to weigh what is going on now and in the future.
Ones health, his family's health, his job security, interest rates, and the economy all factor in the retirement preperation.
My calendar puts be in retirement at end of 2013; a while yet but getting closer all the time.
The market hurt in 2008/beginning of 2009, but since then I have been able to grow back to pre "recession" value with my savings.
